I don't have much experience with console aim, but I believe you want to be looking at your targets rather than your crosshair. Analyze the reasons for your misses (namely, did you misaim or did you misread your opponent's movement?) and try to keep it in mind during future fights. Play with the intent of taking fights as often as possible rather than winning through positioning/timing.
If you want to improve your aim more quickly, it'll have to be more about mindset. I don't think there is a direct Kovaak's equivalent unfortunately :( If the title is not descriptive the post will be deleted.
